About
This neo-gothic funerary chapel located in the centre of Hayange, a classified Historic Monument, was formerly located in the centre of the cemetery and contained the bodies of the De Wendel family. Built in the neo-gothic style, the chapel covers a 6 × 6 m square on two levels: the crypt covered by a lowered groined vault, preceded by an arched porch which is inserted under the front steps; above, the chapel which is entered by means of a double stone ramp accompanied by a railing restored in 1993. The yellow stone used for the construction of this edifice is a local type of limestone, undoubtedly from the Neufchef quarries.
