The plateaus in the heights of Algrange-Nilvange and the Ranguevaux hills, where the limestone soil lets water seep through, are poor and dry, and therefore favourable to the development of calcareous grassland. Two discovery paths with educational signs enable the public to understand the specific features of these protected natural areas. Some remarkable species can be found in these grasslands, most notably the woodland anemone, a plant that’s nationally protected and rare in Lorraine.
